Curriculum planning became a passion when I started working in PYP schools (IB). I have found that with developmentally appropriate curricula that is culturally relevant, and aligned across subjects, I am better able to guide students in learning that is differentiated and inquiry-based. The Primary Years Programme also encourages learners to think about who they strive to be as they learn and grow - inquirers, knowledgeable, thinkers, communicators, principled, open-minded, risk-takers. As an educator, part of my role is to model and guide this aspect of my students’ learning so that they may become reflective and active citizens of their local and global communities.
